About The Tournament

Software Hub and Checkmarx are thrilled to be teaming up to bring you the 2024 ANZ Intergalactic Digital Defender secure coding tournament. This AppSec Challenge is built on the interactive Checkmarx Codebashing platform.

Who Should Join

If you work with code, then you should participate, regardless of your experience. We guarantee you’ll learn something new and have fun doing it. If you’d like a leg up, we’ll give you access to 85 curated lessons before the event, so that you can familiarise yourself with the platform and content.

Date

Friday, 13 December 2024. 

Time

The event is set to start at 1pm AEDT sharp and run for approximately 1 Hour. The winner will be announced at the end of the tournament.

Place

Online, from your desk. We’ll send a Zoom meeting link a few days before the tournament. Please ensure you have access to Zoom.

What tools, software, or accounts do I need to set up before the tournament?

No software installation is required. After registration, you will receive an email from codebashing-no-reply@codebashing.com, which will include a unique link that’ll allow you to set up your account. Please ensure you have access to the Checkmarx Codebashing platform prior to the tournament. If you experience any issues with the account set-up or logging in please email support@onesoftwarehub.com  

Will I need specific hardware or software installed on my computer?

All you’ll need is reliable internet access, the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari. No additional hardware or software is required.

What's the format of the tournament?

The tournament consists of two rounds, each with 10 questions. It is an individual challenge, where speed and accuracy will earn you more points. The winner will be determined based on the cumulative score from both rounds.

Are there any specific coding languages or frameworks to choose from?

You can select your preferred programming language during the account setup process.

Can I review the correct solutions and learn from them?

Yes, all participants will receive a two-week free trial on the Checkmarx Codebashing platform, which includes access to training materials, secure coding courses, and guides to help improve your skills.

How does the referral prize work?

If you refer someone to the tournament and if they register and attend, you stand a chance of winning the ‘Refer a friend’ prize. Please ensure your referral adds your full name, in the space provided, when they register.
